William F. Giauque Travel Awards

Professor Giauque (1895 - 1982) received the 1949 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his contributions in thermodynamics, which included measurements on crystals confirming the Third Law and the invention of adiabatic demagnetization. Giauque trained a legion of students, who subsequently helped to establish and promote calorimetry in academia, government labs, and industry. The Giauque Travel Awards are intended to encourage student participation in the Conference.
