主旨：新機能性材料を開発するために不可欠な物質の凝集機構の本質的理解をめざして，最先端の研究成果を発表し意見交換を行う。さらに世界の材料基礎科学の研究者と情報交流を深め，ナノカロリメトリーをはじめ新しい材料化学熱力学の展開をはかることを目的とする．
