Principal Investigator : Dr. Hena Das

Dr. Hena Das joined as specially appointed Associate Professor at the WRHI and Laboratory for Materials and Structures in the Tokyo Institute of Technology (now Institute of Science Tokyo) in 2018. Having earned her Ph.D. from the University of Calcutta, she has held positions of Research Associate in the Cornell University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the University of California, Berkley, USA. A theoretical condensed matter physicist by training, her research interests and activities are focused on ab initio theoretical study of various properties of materials at the level of atoms and electrons. DAS group aims to develop quantitative guidelines to tailor properties of materials in order to design novel materials/phenomena.
