Professor Shoichi Yoshishiki provides an experimental video for the introductory video of the new government building in Mashiki Town, Kumamoto Prefecture, which was severely damaged by the 2008 Kumamoto Earthquake.
The video shows a full-scale, real-world velocity experiment of spherical sliding bearings and U-shaped steel dampers conducted at the University of California, San Diego.
