1. Position Title Assistant Professor

2. Area

Structural engineering and applied mechanics. Research topics include, but not limited in, structural optimization, numerical analysis for nonlinear structures, data science approach to earthquake engineering, etc.
3. Qualification Ph.D. Degree (at the job starting date). Proficiency in Japanese or English language is required.
The applicant should indicate strong interests and experienced skills in computational mechanics and/or applied mechanics.
4. Job Starting Date As early as possible after December 1st, 2015.
5. Duration and Terms 5 year contract, renewable once for additional at most 5 years. During the additional 5 years, tenure may be obtained after review.
Annual salary will be paid according to the National University Corporation Tokyo Institute of Technology Regulations on Wage and Salary for Staff on the Annual Salary System.

(4) Descriptions of research achievement and future research projects,
