Associate Professor in Division of Structural Engineering

2. Areas |
Advanced structural systems for existing buildings. Topics include fundamental and applied studies on base-isolation, response-control, smart materials, functional continuity and safety enhancement, and structures and urban systems with ability of fast recoveries. |
| 3. Qualification | The applicant must have a doctor in structural engineering or closely related field, and should demonstrate a strong interest and excellent achievements in the required research areas listed above. |
| 4. Job Starting Date | As soon as possible. |
| 5. Duration and Terms | Tenure-track position. Tenure decision will be made during the fifth year of employment. Salary is commensurate with related rules of Tokyo Institute of Technology. |

7. Required Documents |
(1) A detailed and signed curriculum vitae containing a photo of the applicant, a list of academic and professional experiences, publications, patents, research funds, awards, professional and international contributions, and other pertinent information. (2) An autobiography with statement of academic achievement containing about 800 words. (3) Statements of plans of research and graduate education containing about 800 words. (4) Copies of the Bachelor, Master and Ph.D. diploma, and copies of five to ten major publications in the past five years. (5) Names, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses of two referees who can describe the applicant’s scholastic excellence. |
