New structural materials, enhancement of seismic-resistant structures, seismic damage reduction scheme/system, protection of non-structural elements (examples include but not limited to low-cost and damage-controlled structures, and evaluation methods for functional continuuity and safety mergin). |
| 3. Qualification | The applicant must have a doctorate in structural engineering or closely related field, and should demonstrate a strong interest and excellent achievements in the required research areas listed above. |
| 4. Job Starting Date | As soon as possible. |
| 5. Duration and Terms | Tenured position. Salary is commensurate with related rules of Tokyo Institute of Technology. |

7. Required Documents |
(1) A detailed and signed curriculum vitae containing a photo of the applicant, a list of academic and professional experiences, publications, patents, research funds, awards, professional and international contributions, and other pertinent information. (2) An autobiography with statement of academic achievement containing about 800 words. (3) Statements of plans of research and graduate education containing about 800 words. (4) Copies of the Bachelor, Master and Ph.D. diploma, and copies of five to ten major publications in the past five years. (5) Names, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses of two referees who can describe the applicant’s scholastic excellence. |
